To Ms. Christina Carlin:

I am writing to express my interest in any open teaching positions at Commerce Elementary School for the 2016-2017 academic year. Ever since I started teaching, I have been passionate about many of the same things as Commerce Elementary: having high expectations for all students, instilling a passion in children to become lifelong learners, educating not only the academic needs of every student, but the character needs as well, building an essential school-home partnership, and celebrating the unique strengths each child brings to the school community. I have dedicated my teaching career to each of these beliefs as you will see in my enclosed resume. In addition, I believe that our similar visions for education align and would make a great partnership in order to enhance your teaching community.

In my most recent teaching position as an elementary educator for Charyl Stockwell Academy District, I helped to design and teach the third, fourth and fifth grade curriculum. For the past four years I have worked hard to tailor and provide effective instruction to the meet the needs of all students who come into my classroom, rather than having a one size fits all approach. Students have come to me from different backgrounds, abilities, strengths, so I provide instruction that is data-driven to accommodate the needs of each child.

Although I have enjoyed my time at Charyl Stockwell Academy District, I am eager to continue to expand my experience and join the Commerce Elementary School community. I believe that I would be a valuable addition in creating a nurturing and academically challenging place for children to grow and learn while upholding high expectations. It would be an honor to teach your students and serve a district that maintains high educational standards and provides students with education for the mind and the heart. Please feel free to contact me to set up a meeting. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Kayla Bauer
